Non-Pipeline Alternatives: Converting Homes from Natural Gas to Beneficial Electrification Central Hudson is a small gas & electric utility in NY State that uses NPA projects to convert natural-gas-using buildings to full electrification. Its goal is to retire 15 miles of costly leak-prone pipeline annually. Whole home electrification replaces gas-using equipment such as water heaters, stoves, and dryers with electric alternatives which can be less costly. Learn more about five NPA projects that have converted 10 homes (eight in disadvantaged communities) to electric.
